Just thinking of you and music... Ever heard of R.B. Morris? He's a poet, musician and writer from Tennessee. Thought you might enjoy his music. Let me know what you think.
One of my summer projects involves building a wood storage area away from our house; we stack our wood next to the house, on the deck, which is convenient but not smart due to critters living in it and a fire hazard if ever the house caught fire. So I’ll be moving & stacking wood too.
Thanks, Sarah. It's a far cry from my PB of 18:05 in the five km, but it's the reality of where I'm at these days. Yes, it's best to build the wood stack away from your home, and exactly for the reasons you've stated. We were fortunate in that the wood house we have came as part of the property when we purchased it three years ago.
There's a great story line..."If I didn’t live.... surely I’d live..." 'Made me think about what I like about where (& relatedly, how) I live; and where I would surely like to live (in NS) as an alternative. Both have changed over the years. There are so many 'neat' places in NS I have got to know, so many more to experience or learn about. I only know for sure that for me, there is nowhere else I would rather live, your writing about it expresses many of the reasons.
Thank you, David. At this point I find myself thinking about a lot of things I might have done differently, mostly though related to my career rather than where I'd choose to live. I honestly wish I'd started concentrating on book writing 20 years ago, but it is what it is, and like all of us I will have to ultimately be comfortable with the choices I've made. In terms of living in N.S., we're blessed with such a beautiful province; I could just as easily settle in the mountains of Cape Breton, or along the shore facing toward N.B. I have been fortunate over my life in that I've lived in many different places in Canada, although there's at least two I could have settled in for much longer periods of time easily. However, that said, I'm glad that my writing reflects some of the current vibrancy of our province, and that you enjoy it. Thanks again for reading.

Hi Greta: For some reason, I didn't immediately see this. I'm not familiar with R.B. Morris. I'll look him up. Thank you for the recommendation.
I think "Zeke and the Wheel" has to be my favorite album of his, but I haven't heard them all.
If you like him, "Roman Candle" is an obscure band from Chapel Hill, NC that too few know about, considering how good they are. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Candle_(band)
Lyrics are very important to me... and these bands know how to write.
I'd definitely to show up to your Woodstack festival, fully gloved and ready to jam out to some Buddy Guy.
I'm up for Woodstack !
It would be so much fun!
Congrats on doing the 5K!
