Return of the lane Of course, many of you are familiar with the “lane” that leads back to our place. A former logging road slightly more than two kilometres in length, depending on the time of year it can be a fairly bouncy, jouncy, rough ride back to the house.
Me too. I used to do 16 k to half-marathons but that was a while ago. I’m in a winter slowdown but I was walking an hour or two a day till last fall. I’m hoping to do a 5-k at Ottawa race weekend this spring. Cheers to you and keep it up!
I can imagine the look of terror on that poor Amazon driver's face. Poor guy. Almost worth ordering something else just to have him come back!
I never enjoyed running - I did try it, but walking is more my speed. Seems to me you notice more that way. And I enjoy the silence of walking, the crunch of leaves or gravel under my feet.

Chuckie, what a great piece of writing. Your lead piece had me laughing, picturing you with the saw and the isolated driver. Keep 'em coming friend.

Thanks for taking me for a walk along your lane.
Nice read, Charles. Thanks!
I too did a lot of running in my 30s and 40s - not so much now. But I walk a lot. Enjoyed the read. Cheers
Ha love your lunch attack! I am sure they appreciated your passion for bratwurst.
