This morning as I stacked split wood on the outdoor pile for next winter, I noticed something that I don’t believe I had in previous springs. It was noisy. The birds filled the air with chatter. I think life is returning to the marsh surrounding our home in greater profusion than before.
We had our first Robin sighting Thursday, then Friday we got three more inches of snow. Will this winter ever end?!? I see the birds as hopeful beacons, like Noah's dove looking for a branch on which to perch.
Great post. You might be right about the birds figuring out that no more hunting is happening on your 64 acres. It's a reasonable hypothesis.

Good Reminder that we are still waiting on Coastal Protection regs. Thx.

Love it. Very interesting about the coastal issues, we have similar issues here. Thanks for the shout out.
Beautiful rock wall at Crescent Beach. I luv it !
We don't want any Turbines in the Bay of Fundy because they are proven fishkillers.
